Today a number of gamer websites are revealing new tidbits about WotLK. Here are a few that really stood out for me.
1) Anyone with a level 55 toon can create a Death Knight. You are allowed one per server
2) All 5 man dungeons will be able to be completed in less than an hour. (I suspect that this will be once the dungeon is learned. We all know how challenging a dungeon can be when you first enter it.)
3) All heroics will have completely retooled loot from their normal counterparts.
4) There will be multiple starting areas in Northrend. (No more wiping out of an entire area.
5) Zones in Northrend are much larger than the ones in Outlands. So much so that they are split into subzones much as Terrokar Forrest and Auch(what ever its name is).
6) All raid instances will have 10 man and 25 man versions. There will be no cross attunement between the 10 man and 25 man raids. Also, the 10 and 25 man raids will be on separate timers.
There are lots of other nifty tidbits, but I think that those are the ones that are most relevant to us.
So, what do you think?
10 man version of Naxx?
Yup. 10 man Naxx. There will be better gear in the 25 man versions of all raid encounters, but every single one of them will have two different versions.
One hour? I’m finding that particular one hard to swallow.
They’ll either have to drastically cut back on the number of bosses or seriously cut down the size of the trash pulls.
I dunno. Most of the outlands dungeons can be done in less than an hour these days.
They’ll probably compact the instances. People are going to do them dozens of times anyways, so Bliz can offer a larger loot table on smaller dungeons. And if they keep up the badge tokens, you’ll probably stop caring what drops as long as badges drop.
They’ve mentioned that they’ve had a lot of feed back on returning to a more generic fantasy setting from BC’s Sci-fantasy.
Er, lot of positive feed back on going back to traditional fantasy.
Traditional fantasy would be win.
And the only BC dungeon clears I’ve seen in less than an hour have been crazy-good geared groups. with the exception of Hellfire Ramparts.
With four notable exceptions:
Arc, Shadow Lab, Shattered Halls and Bot, I haven’t done a single outlands dungeon that has taken less than an hour even with alts.
Crazy geared groups allow people to do stupid things. It really doesn’t make the killing go all that much faster in my experience.
